We are pleased to announce the publication of the paper titled “Voices from Transit Zones: A Study of Humanitarian Interpreting Challenges” in Alfinge 35 (2023), 36-65. This paper by Aleksandra Nuc Blazic, Katia Iacono, and Sara Orthaber draws on data from the ReTrans project and sheds light on the specific requirements and dilemmas faced by humanitarian interpreters and service users in transit zones across various countries. Through interviews with representatives of NGOs, public service institutions, and interpreters, the study provides valuable insights into the operational and role-related challenges encountered in humanitarian interpreting.
